A loose translation:

Rock Musician Who Loves Jönköping

The rock musician from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean "Cole" is in Jonkoping for two shows on Sjöåkra gård, Bankeryd.
When jnytt met with him he was excited, but tired.

"I arrived to Sweden from The States last night, so I am still suffering from jetlag. But it's fantastic to be here. Jonkoping is one of my favorite cities.' Sjöåkra is a smaller place which I like better, it's more personal."

Cole is often in Sweden, but this is just his second time in Jonkoping. With that said, it doesn't mean he lacks fans in this town.

I have a lot of fans here, in Gothenburg and the rest of Sweden, which I hope will come to the shows", he says.

Modern Rock
Musically it is a combination of modern rock or as Cole himself says, "A mix of Memphis and Los Angeles".
"Its rockabilly and rock mix together", he points out.
But it's hard to describe because I write everything myself so it doesn't sound like anything else."

There are influences coming from Elvis because it's impossible to avoid but there is also fragments of the country and rock legend Johnny Cash. His current personal favorites are Damian Rice and Jeff Buckley.

When asked where he gets his song writing inspirations, Cole Laughs, " I get my inspiration from traveling and beautiful women."
Music is his Life

His self titled album, recently released, means more shows for the already booked artist.
"This year I have been in Sweden five times, and I definitely will come back."
During the Bankeryd shows this weekend there will be wide repertoire with selections performed from his latest album, as well as traditional Christmas carols and classical rock.

But first I will have sound check and try to see more of this beautiful city", Cole ends by saying.

LaVoce. Cole: Artist of the Month (October 07)

Music was never a choice for me... it's my life. Everything else that happens is just killing time betwen songs. And it don't matter when the Lord decides to take me. As long as their playin' my music andsingin' my songs, I'll still live on."
Carl Perkins
Singer, songwriter, author of "Blue Suede Shoes"

He doesn't remember exactly when he got the fever, From the earliest days of his boyhood in Michigan, he only knew that music fed his soul, burned through his veins and never gave him a choice in the matter. From the first time he held a guitar, Cole knew that music would be his life.

"For me it was simple", he says"when you realize at such as early age what you're meant to do it makes it easy to cut to the chase. Music is the force that cuts across social
lines and language barriers and speaks to the heart. I wanted to sing and create songsthat would resonate with anyone who heard them.".

It was the same sensation Cole experienced each time he heard songs by Johnny Cash, Elvis and Carl Perkins.

"Their songs were about putting everything out there on the line, keeping the emitons simple and the feel-good factor high. In what amounted to tow minutes or airplay, their songs managed to convey the whole spectrum of heartbreak, hope, faith and a kind of in-your-face joy to be alive. That's the legacy of their music and what every musician who's come after them aspires to do".

After high school, Cole moved to Nashville. He'd decided the best way to honor his music heroes was to move to their musical epicenter and jump in, guitar first.

"It was where everything was happening, I was this young kid from Michigan jamming on gigs with various stars, legends and people I only dreamed of ever meeting, and then I was out on the road with them, doing tours, studio work, and it just got better and better".

The next chapter of Cole's musical odyssey began with a phone call from The Jordanaires. They'd come out to Vegas for a gig, thought Cole would be a good fit in the music scene here and told him to catch the next thing smokin' for Sin Ciyt. It turned out to be a prophetic suggestion.

"Vegas turned out to be a great fit. I never expected a big audience here for :origianl" music and artists but the response has been incredible. If you put your passion into your music, people respond. Since coming here, I have found that my creative process has grown beyond the boundaries of one particular genre. It's become a fusion of the primal elements of the same things we all respond to, deep in our souls."

"On my website it says "Dream it, Live it Be it" That's become the credo of my music, what I try to incorporate in every creative venture. It's the only way to keep it real".

Keeping it real does not begin to describe the success that's followed. Backed by his band 212, Coles inccendiary stage presence has iginited fans from Beale Street to Stockholm. It doesn't hurt that he is drop-dead gorgeous or that the trace of Sugar Magnolias in his voice packs a K.O. punch for any female with a pulse. But it's the fire of his music, a passionate inferno that ignites anyone within earshot.

Fast forward several years, five highly acclaimed CD's, back to back world tours and the epidemic fever that strikes each time Cole performs. As the youngest musician ever to be inducted into Tennessee's Rockabilly Hall Of Fame. Cole has established himself as a singing/songwriting/musical triple threat.

The heat that is spreading through Las Vegas
has nothing to do with the weather. For anyone who wants to feel the fire, samples of Cole's music and CD ordering information are at http://www.rockncole.com

For those that catch the fever be warned. As Cole's fans will attest, there's no antidote and no cure for shakin' all over and rockin' all night long.

Sweden loves Cole!!

Feature story in Sweden Newspaper (March 8, 2007)

Headline translates: "Rock Career in the shadow of Elvis"...
Story speaks of this particular tour of Cole sharing the stage with Elvis' Guitarists James Burton and John Wilkinson. And how he is the greatest Rocker EVER to perform in Sweden... going to be even bigger than The Swedish group Abba!!! Ok, well maybe it doesn't quite translate to say that, But it does praise Cole's recent induction into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, his latest CD and more... great stuff! ;P

Cole populär i Jönköping
